Mindfulness Silent Day Retreat at Namaste Barn

 Sunday March 24th from 10.00 – 5.00 pm

Open to anyone who has completed the MBSR Mindfulness Course with me or elsewhere, or who has an established mindfulness practice.

Perhaps you have found that your mindfulness practice has been less in the foreground lately. If so, this is a great opportunity to reconnect and reunite with this practice.  To begin again……and to gather with the folks who have shared this journey.

OUR DAY

We’ll settle with drinks and a chat before moving into the Silent Day

I will be speaking to offer guidance and practices thoughout.

The day will be a flow of guided practices, one flowing into the other throughout the day

Blending:

 Yoga

 Body Scan,

  Mindful shared lunch.

 Mindful Walking Meditation inside and outside

Sitting Meditation

I warmly recommend this day, to turbo charge your mindfulness practice….

and enable you to meet a deep sense of peace within.

You’ll also be invited to attend a one-day retreat as part of this programme.

Our lives are full of busyness and so I offer you a morning to bring your mind home to meet your body, to centre and ground and to take care of yourself. We will have a gentle Hatha yoga practice, some pranayama energy and breathwork and some mindfulness, ending the session with a yoga nidra – deep guided relaxation. I will provide tea and savoury muffins and cake to refresh us mid-morning.

Everyone is welcome, whether you have little or lots of experience of yoga.

Accessible to all levels Neurogenic Yoga™ is a revolutionary technique in trauma healing and stress reduction.

This simple, gentle and profound practice that facilities the lengthening and relaxation of the psoas muscle and the release of physical and emotional stress and tension. During a Neurogenic Yoga practice, we safely self induce therapeutic vibration using yoga postures and breath. Often vibration begins in the legs and may spread throughout the entire body. This method is based on Dr. David Berceli’s technique of Trauma Releasing Exercises® (TRE®). This shaking response in humans, much the same as the instinctual shaking in animals, is the nervous system’s way of discharging long-held tension and trauma,whether emotional or physical, in order to restore the body to wholeness.

Jo will lead you through a gentle practice, awakening your instinctive tremor release which is often described as a pleasurable, comforting, some say meditative experience. Jo will then complete the session guiding you to melt into a relaxing Yoga Nidra practice.

Emily will lead a movement session that draws on her experience as a yoga therapist and dance artist. The session will explore how we can move from a place of intuition, instinct and felt sense to express through yoga forms and free form movement our own authentic creative expression.
Emily has begun to study more about Cacao as a ritual plant medicine with Marcela Enriquez Wakeman (Embodying the sacred  Cacao Ritual). Cacao will be offered as a drink to support the process of dance, movement, embodied prayer and celebration.
